Love the color and design of these plates! They are so funny! I've bought plates, salad plates, cereal bowls and mugs to spice up my chili style cooking. HOWEVER - plates and bowls soak up water very easily and mold will form on the unglazed lower leg. I recommend never soaking and hand washing them to minimize water absorption. The absorption of water also causes cracking (formation of very fine cracks) in the glaze, which is probably why plates get so hot in the microwave. I haven't had any chipping issues, but I did notice that the frosting wasn't smooth and had rough edges where it was too thin. You get what you pay for!
