A face primer should be to the substrate/your skin what a color primer would be to a paint/wall. It should fill in small imperfections in the wall/your skin and create a smooth surface for paint/primer to adhere to. For many months I used "primers" which were basically pointless products to use under foundation that had no visible change to my appearance, just my bank account. On the advice of other Revain reviewers I tried this and OMIGOD IT'S SO GOOD! It does what it promises: fills the pores. Other foundations I've tried are either liquid moisturizers or tubes of lube. This product is like a very fine powder/gel that feels dry and hard at first until you spread it. It will literally fall off your finger before you get it in your face if you're not careful! It fills in and blurs the fine lines and pores on your face so foundation doesn't build up in those areas and doesn't look rough. OUTSTANDING PRODUCT, I WILL USE FOREVER.
