Review on HealthSmart Digital Touchless Thermometer: Reliable for Babies, Children, and Adults - Versatile for Object and Air Testing by Adam Smith

Fairly accurate but not particularly intuitive to use

This thermometer is amazingly accurate. I've tried several of these non-contact models over the past year and many of them seem to be inconsistent or inaccurate. This is consistent and gives me results that are very close to the same readings I get with an oral thermometer. Setting up this thermometer is a bit of a hassle as you have to set the time and date. It's exhausting and I can't think of a situation where I would rely on my thermometer to give me that information. In addition, to use the thermometer itself, you must first turn it on, and then read it. I'm used to a button that turns the thermometer on and takes readings. It doesn't seem like a big deal, but when you have a fever, every extra step can really feel like a pain. My favorite feature of this thermometer is the tri-color screen. I love how they take the guesswork out of using any of these devices. Even a child can use this thermometer and know that green is good and red is bad. The main benefit of this feature is that it can be used without glasses. If you're in yellow or red I might suggest finding and sorting out your glasses, but if I have a high fever I'll probably check with an oral thermometer. All in all, I'd recommend this thermometer at least as a first line of defense if you're not feeling well. I definitely still recommend having a reliable oral thermometer on hand for double checking, but it's great for a quick and easy check.
