I just got back from a trip with this bag and took pictures of all the goodies that ended up in it, not my usual stuff so it's a mess . It holds up quite a bit, but the 2 inch notch that houses the main zipper reduces its capacity and makes it harder to close. I put it on wet beach sand and wet grass. The water won't stain or discolor the color, stain the cork or soak, it was beautiful. The antique bronze hardware, except for the main zip which is blackened silver, appears solid, although the D-rings for the shoulder strap work compared to a handle smaller. square rings I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra phone and its protective case is 7 inches high, 3 1/2 inches wide and 1/2 inch thick. Unfortunately, the outer zip pocket and inner zip pocket are not deep enough to put my phone in and zip up. While I can slip it into the inside pocket with my phone out and the main zip can be closed, it's very tight and the pocket can't or won't be filled. If they made the smaller inner and outer pockets 2 inches lower to the bottom of the bag, even the largest phones would fit instead of getting lost in the main compartment. Overall this is a good quality bag, I wouldn't call it a large bag (it's not the big bag you take to the beach with towels, sunscreen and snacks), it's more of a bucket bag with a large wallet, other Carrying toiletries and finally all the family stuff.
