I bought this to make my life easier when switching between work and home laptops. This block is great. Allows me to easily detach my personal laptop from my setup and plug my work laptop right into its place. The bonus I had was that my power supplies were interchangeable for both laptops. Disconnect the 2 cables, swap them and reconnect. It's that easy. I'm using this to drive an old school AOC 21" LCD with VGA and a 15.6 portable LCD installed. It also gives me plenty of USB ports for my external hard drives, mouse, keyboard, etc. The built-in Ethernet and audio-out are also great for taking full advantage of my fiber optic connection and lag-free audio for movies and videos. All in one connection point. Only it hiccups sometimes when I wake up my machine after it's been idle for a while (it's on all the time, 6 second boot is still too long lol), only the laptop comes back and the dock does not react. I don't know if this is a sleep function on the device or if my laptop wakes up confused. But a quick disconnect and reconnect instantly brings everything back to life.
