I have used a regular white towel before, then a microfiber towel and then a bun insert, but this product has proven better than any other. It works on synthetic and natural brushes, as well as every powder, blush, bronzer, and eyeshadow I've tried. I know a lot of people think it's too expensive a trick, but I use mine every day and I'm very happy with it. I still shampoo my brushes about once a week or ten days, but since I can now reuse my brushes day after day, I don't have to wash them as often. It looks great on my vanity and the tin can makes it easy to travel with. I think it's better for my brushes (and my skin) than quick-drying solvents that can be used to quickly clean brushes. I definitely recommend it.
