I had the only issue where the monitor went static as if the signal dropped but the laptop it showed was fine (ie it had to be a switch) but through hin - and switching on it was deleted. The real disappointment for me was that the remote switch just stopped working (I'm guessing it's not the actual switch but the electronics in the unit itself). I bought it specifically to hide the junction box in the back and just pull out the remote switch itself. Too bad. [EDIT] The switch is back after a power cycle. So take it how you want. Also, the problem with static noise on the monitor is that (I assume) the HDMI cable is wobbly and not plugged in as tightly as it should.
