I put this lamp in my garage, it is very poorly lit. Unfortunately I only have 1 bulb socket in my garage and it sits in a small hole just above the HVAC unit. Before that, there was only a CFL bulb, and it was just awful. Once I replaced it with this light and flipped the switch. I thought I was going blind! I mean seriously, you can't even look at it directly! It did a great job of lighting up a small part of my garage. what it can. I know the next time an AC technician comes in for an inspection, they'll be very happy that they don't need a flashlight anymore :-)
