I don't usually write reviews but I 100% regret it. I've been thinking about this for so long. I read reviews of how great it was and then reviews of how bad it was. I was particularly nervous because I had my hair color fixed a few months ago. For the record, I'm brunette. I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on salon keratin straightening/procedures. This brand was not the same as any other brand that has been used on my hair in the past. I looked at YouTube videos and countless others and finally just went with it. Spring. I'M SORRY FOR THAT! 1. It took me a long time, this is normal. I knew that if I want everything to be done right, I have to be very meticulous about the application and such.2. Followed the guide step by step. I put it on and started blow drying it which was so hard. My hair turned into thick hay after blow-drying. It was so dry and out of control.2. The straightening process was just as difficult. I have dark hair and it turned the baby hairs around my face and even towards the middle of my head to ORANGE! My color has also faded. I immediately put the fire out and spent 400 on the rest. I have naturally wavy thin hair like the girl in the youtube video but not like hay. I was afraid to do more than a few passes through my hair, so I did less than recommended. It was so difficult.3. After straightening, the hair became thick, greasy and hard, smelling bad.4. I rinsed it out and my, oh my god, my hair smelled like hell. Chemical, rotten as vinegar. I could not bear it. At night I put a soft handkerchief over my head to keep the stench from getting on the pillow, which happened by the way. The hair has been pulled back into a loose, low bun for the work. As soon as I got out I took it out and it smelled SO BAD I thought I was going to throw up and then passed out in the car. At the roots of my hair, especially closer to the back of my head, they were sticky, greasy, thick, like I hadn't washed them well enough.6. I put on a mask, hoping to put something on my hair that will loosen the soot and get rid of the smell, or at least cover it up a bit. Leave for about 4 hours while napping. Now I'm here. I removed the mask. I washed my hair 3 times in the shower, each time with a different shampoo (first the one that came with this product, then a cleansing conditioner to soften it a bit, second with a sulfate shampoo because I like it that way very wanted, and regular conditioner, 3rd with Acure sulfate free shampoo and conditioner) I scrubbed, massaged and rubbed my scalp just hoping the crap would come out. My hair still smells awful, I can't stand it. My hair feels like straw even though it's soft on the surface. The roots seem heavy, glued, thick. This is unlike any other product I have used on my hair. I prefer to deal with annoying natural hair. I gotta get this shit out of my hair. Save yourself a major headache and frustration. Just go to the salon. I know paying that kind of money sucks, but I'm willing to pay for a quality product and service. If you're worried and value your hair now, don't risk it. I thought I'd be fine, didn't think it would smell, feel gross or turn orange like other reviewers, and yet I'm writing this review.
