I listen to classical music, opera and jazz almost exclusively, so I'm very careful about the headphones I use. (Opera, with its vast differences in timbre, volume, and pitch, is a particularly difficult test for them.) I've flirted with several noise-cancelling headphones over the years, but they've been prohibitively expensive. Then I read what can only be described as rave reviews - and their critics rarely "rave" about anything - in Gramophone magazine about the AUsounds ANC Bluetooth Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones. I asked no questions and bought a set almost immediately. I soon understood the reasons for the rave, which I totally agree with. In fact, my husband, whose taste in music is far more ecumenical than mine, was so impressed he bought his own set. The only possible downside (a plus for me) is that the noise-cancellation is so effective that I can barely hear anything but music.
