Bought to use 1/4" carbide bit with my Foredom outboard. I used to only use their smaller 3/32" bits for jewelry work so I'm not sure how it will handle 1/4" bits. So far it's been amazing. I use carbide bits to cut some heavy metal off an aluminum intake manifold. 44T performed well. Tons of power, great speed and easy to hold and control. Much better than my pneumatic die grinder and the Foredom is about 90% quieter. After about an hour of hard grinding it will Handpiece and motor quite hot so I rested them regularly.mentioned that I work really hard and I still think it's great work for a device that was really designed for lighter work.
