The pre-punched screw holes make a world of difference during installation, it's not a difficult task but it makes it a little more enjoyable. If you don't set your system to run the fans at full speed, the LED in the bios will blink if it is on at all, and the low DC voltage on the fans will cause the LED to stay on (half red ring/half green ring), maybe that's just my attitude, but everything stays pretty cool so the fans don't have to spin as hard as they should. If you're sitting right next to it you'll probably be bothered, but mine is connected to the TV and I'm sitting across from it. Roughly the noise equivalent of a games console fan. In general, the fans are good.
