I was surprised at the thickness of this sleeping bag compared to others I have used with my children. Depending on the thermostat, it can also be too warm in winter. It's like a blanket built into a sweater. This can be a good choice if your child is new to covering themselves. This would be a good choice if you need more than average warmth for your baby. Size 12-36 is quite large and leans more towards a 3 year old. My child is 2 1/2 years old and this fits him. The sleeves are detachable if you want to be a little less warm. The small booties on the bag are also optional and can be folded. The whole bag is well made and very attractive.
