Nice shorts, too large
I usually wear an xl, or size 16. I got the xxl, based on the us size 16 attached to xxl. These were too large. Unfortunately, I needed them right away and didn't have time to return them and go down a size, so I had to take them in on the sides. I do like them - they work great. I use them several times a week at the gym pool. If ordering again I'd pay attention to the L, XL sizes and not the listed US sizes.
