As a woman with very limited "craftsman" skills, I was able to assemble this on my own without any problems, except that my dogs didn't want to be my "helper." suitable for heavy and small items but I bought it to support my printer and some other office supplies and it works great for that. I don't use it as a table but as a shelf/table next to my desk. It is functional like a table but will be quite small depending on your needs and the gear you are using. But a good buy for the money.
