I had to carry over 100 pounds of rocks down a long, steep slope, and I was concerned that a shapeless bag with no frame or hip support would make the job dangerous or awkward. It weighed little when it arrived and I was concerned that it might not be suitable for the job. Not at all - this is a heavy duty tarp that has served as a reliable backpack for many loads. They worked loose, didn't fail, they just grew uncomfortably large. Later used on site, shoveling wet muddy gravel into a bag and hauling it to a better spot. I was embarrassed that the bag was so dirty but she didn't mind at all! [EDIT] It was a very nice bag when it was new and I regretted getting it dirty. Now it's painted with clay and Portland cement; and wounded by sun and rain. Looks even better! I want the same to happen to me.
