Lightweight and Strong

I [bought an AM-225 for the holidays and am happy so far. I used to have a Sirui T-005x, Sirui's cheaper entry-level aluminum tripod. While it serves its purpose, the stability of this tripod made me look elsewhere. My setup consists of two Fujifilm cameras (X-T2 and X-H1) with their choice of lenses (10-24, 18-55, 50). -140, 23 1.4), so I only get 4.12lbs in the heaviest combo: X-H1 + 50-140mm + B-00k ballhead. With a maximum load of 13.2 lbs, The AM-225 just keeps me at 1/3 of the carrying capacity. I'm considering the AM-254 for the added stability (26.5 lb. load capacity), but my primary concern is weight savings since I use my gear for hiking/long-distance hiking. For weight comparison, the AM-225+B00K ballhead weighs 31.5 ounces on my scale, which beats my T-005x which weighs 36.5 ounces. Between T-005x and AM-225 I noticed an improvement. in vibration dampening and overall stability despite its low weight. That's hard to quantify, of course, but judging by the sharpness of my recent tripod-stabilized photos, I have nothing to complain about. Another plus is how compact the tripod folds up. Since there is no main stand extension, fold the tripod legs together to form a much more compact position. The trade-off is a slightly lower maximum height (47 inches) and a slightly higher collapsed height (16 inches). A little more length when folded doesn't bother me personally, as the compactness makes it easier to stow things in the side pockets of my backpack. That being said, I have not fully tested and used the AM-225. in severe or bad weather. TBD as it stands, but so far so good. in severe or bad weather.
