My first safety razor was a Merkur and I was very happy with it. Because of this, I decided that buying blades from the same company would be the obvious choice. Without knowing better, I'd say they were decent blades. However, having experimented with other brands (I see Astra Platinum here) these blades have proven to be mediocre at best. They don't last very long and I change them every 2 days unlike others where I get a comfortable shave after 5 days. They're also not very aggressive, so if you have sensitive skin, you'll definitely appreciate them. I like very close shaves and they just aren't sharp enough for me. For around 60 cents per blade, there are cheaper blades that will give you a better shave.
