Review on 🐾 Sturdi Products Bag Pet Carrier: A Durable and Stylish Solution for Traveling with Pets by Denise Ward

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I want to love this carrier but unfortunately my dog hates it.

We traveled from the small aircraft carrier Teafco Argo Aero, which fits very well in the economy class 2017. Pros: Size (small) perfect for our 7 lb Chi. Tons of ventilation. Fits perfectly under the impossibly small AA seat and the tent-like design maximizes the interior dimensions of the stroller within seat size limitations. The carrier is well made and roomy and doesn't look like a dog carrier. The shoulder strap system is comfortable. Cons: The side panels offer no support and are like a gym bag. So if your dog likes to lean against the side panel, it is not strong enough to support it without deforming. Also, the ventilation is so good that even with the flaps closed there isn't much soundproofing or heat retention on a very cold plane. Our pup, who is a seasoned air traveler, was more desperate than ever on a 3 hour flight. . In addition, the mesh ventilation is quite transparent, which means that our pup could see us well and therefore spent at least 2 hours trying to escape (chewing on the seams of the bag, pulling on the inner zippers and velcro and acting like a banshee turn in it without success ). In contrast, Argo offers a double layer of much darker mesh. It's more like a cave or hideout inside and seems to give him a sense of security rather than a trap. An improvement could be that this bag doesn't have a true top hatch, meaning the dog has to be "loaded" from the side. There is a tiny zippered access area at the top of the bag, but it only has enough room for one hand or head. Perhaps our experience would be different if our dog grew up with this type of carrier, but this is not the carrier for us. The search continues.
