Very happy with this blanket. It was well packed. Advertised as organic cotton - the label on the duvet says 100% cotton. But I don't care, it's very soft and comfortable to the touch. The glass beads just move to the side or corner because nothing is holding them or sewing to hold them "in place," but that's not a problem for me. The material is quite thin and translucent when held up to the light. I don't think there is any fiberfill that I'm happy about because it just warms me up. The duvet is very large and can cover the surface of a double bed. I recently dragged it from the bedroom to the living room. I would have anticipated a bead leak if it pushed too hard. For me it's mostly on my bed. I have a 15 pound blanket. I weigh 135 pounds and sleep very hot. I was afraid of overheating. However, I've found that I enjoy folding it in half to sleep underneath. I think a lot of weight is great. I stretch my legs out when I get too hot and it keeps me balanced. It's quite difficult to change positions under such a weight, but once I do it, I relax easily. I believe it helps me sleep more deeply. Now I dream more. I am new to weighted blankets. I just stumbled across this article while looking for bamboo and alpaca comforters. The concept sounded tempting. This duvet came before my other expensive bedding and now I don't know what to choose for sleeping! I use the weighting agent for about a month until I get fed up with it. When the bamboo duvet cover arrives, I wonder, do I have it next to me for softness and temperature control, and a weighted comforter over it? Not sure if this will damage the bamboo fibers? Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised by this blanket.
