The original (non-luminous) part came out quite easily - not without snapping the petals - but who needs them when they're removed! You have to decide if you want those running lights or turn signals. I connected mine to the turn signals so I connected the red wire to the white wire to the green track wire so it could receive lightning power to the side marker. The black and red wire is grounded and must be grounded to any ground on the jeep. I suppose if I wanted to find wires that would serve as both a turn signal and a navigation light I could do that too - maybe in the future I'll reverse the current way I've wired them and do the side marker light that way wire. Pretty and bright, it adds a twist to the sides of the jeep and is also a safer signaling feature to those around you.
