When unpacked, the 50-wire core was damaged.

I know this is not user error as I literally just pulled a strand out of the box. I cleaned and trimmed the ends and put them in the right order. I checked and some of the wires didn't show they had the right connection. I thought it might be my setup of the end connectors. So I cut them off and redid them. However, the same wires showed no connection. Back then it was a wire that had some kind of internal damage. I couldn't believe it. It was a brand new box and that thread I just pulled out was damaged. I have never experienced this.
