definitely leaves skin looking and feeling hydrated. WARNING: contains a STRONG fragrance

Edit: Ok this is a hybrid SERUM and cream review. Didn't realize they were going to be lumped together so most of it revolves around the serum which works well as they are very similar and the serum feels more concentrated. I add some creamy notes if necessary. Summary: - Very moisturizing. I can tell right away. (both serum and cream) - Contains no bad alcohols, only good ones (both serum and cream) - Long-lasting hydration of the skin (both serum and cream, but especially serum) - SERUM can replace other steps in the routine IF it is required must be (moisturizing tonic, essence, ampoule, moisturizer) - Absorbs quickly but still leaves a soft, moist feel (both serum and cream) - Low impact (both serum and cream, especially serum) - Blends well with sunscreen AND MAKEUP (does not roll, see notes below) (both serum and cream, together or separately) - Contains fragrance, has a STRONG fragrance (which dissipates) rather than a subtle fragrance (SERUM) - Contains fragrance, noticeable gentle fragrance, exudes (CREME) This Cetaphil Deep Hydration 48 Hour Activation Serum really moisturizes the skin. It's intended for "dry, dehydrated skin" and I think it's a hit in that regard. I gave up my favorite hydrating toners, complex serums, and fancy moisturizers in favor of trying this serum (as well as their moisturizer for the same purpose) for a few days. SERUM is a lotion. It comes in a small serum that looks like a pump bottle. It looks rich and concentrated. But it's not a liquid or syrup like many wheys. It doesn't take long to cover the entire face. It feels smooth and silky. My skin is instantly dewy and moist and the feeling won't go away. I always wear sunscreen when I use it during the day. CREAM is a lightweight moisturizer in a small open container. You can use your own spatula or popsicle stick to extract the product if you don't want to use your fingers. It works well over a serum or alone. Very good for adding moisture and setting serum. You don't need much. It can be distributed well. Feels good on face and neck. Doesn't seem to make rosacea redness worse. Always wear sunscreen. Although it is high in fatty alcohols (GOOD alcohols that you need for your skin), I DO NOT SEE ANY bad alcohol (like denatured, SD, etc.). This serum is packed with softening conditioners and moisturizers. The only real issue I had is the inclusion of "Fragrance" as an ingredient. While not everyone is bothered by the smell, some people with very sensitive skin will. This product was also made to help with sensitivity so I'm a little embarrassed that it's included. Now most scents don't bother my skin (I've been working hard to repair my skin barrier and I've found over the past year that the scent isn't irritating.). BUT some scents just irritate me in the sense that they can cause headaches and/or nausea. Something is wrong here too. BUT, geez, that flavor is STRONG (especially in the SERUM). It kind of smells like depilatory cream. If they reduced the smell by a notch or two (the moisturizer bottle smells the same, but not as strongly), I wouldn't have a problem with that. Luckily it doesn't last forever. As I doubt I will continue with this product (although it works and it might be a contender for those times when I really need to save - let's say I sleep somewhere and don't want to be laden down with groceries) - I have also used it on my hands, elbows and forearms - wherever dryness is felt. While I've used this SERUM alone (just to really see how it works) or paired with her CREAM moisturizer, I've - out of habit - used it over hydrating toners and other serums, as well as under sunscreen and makeup. I DON'T PILL. The place I'm most likely to see peeling (a small glob of product, usually because it doesn't soak in or dry between uses) is with my liquid foundations. I've used pillow foundations, liquid foundations (using a sponge, brush, fingers) and SPF liquid foundations (using a sponge, brush, or fingers). and none of these options resulted in pill products. I figured the possible force of the applicator (or my fingers) would move the skin and products enough to pill them. but no! So can I say this is a decent primer? My skin: 40's, fair, dry, sensitive, rosacea (no acne just redness with visible veins), loves hyaluronic acid and other moisturizers and emollients.
