These backpacks are much better than I expected! I thought they were like cheap Walmart backpacks, the kind that only lasted a school year before falling apart. But they are made of dense fabric with internal seams, wrapped with intarsia and sewn. The shoulder straps are slightly padded, which corresponds to the size of the bag. It's wide enough front to back to hold at least 4 books and is a decent size for elementary and middle school kids. The photo I've added is of my 7.5 year old son, average height for his age is 4ft 1in. I wasn't expecting an internal mesh pocket, a headphone jack, or large, durable zippers. It's worth the cost.
