The leather surface is very smooth and shiny which gives the impression that it is "leather". However, it feels like glued leather. In the end, it looks durable and roomy enough to fit in my everyday purse, sunglasses, cell phone, ipad, etc etc. But nobody mistakes this for a quality end bag.And at $30 that would be an unreasonable expectation.
