Hard to beat the price. This is not a cheap pressed wool blanket. The woven fabric and a small amount of synthetic fibers provide a good, durable base for long-term use, but it's not the same as synthetic fleece in the sense that it breathes naturally. Wool requires a very different approach to cleaning, I prefer to wash in cold water and hang dry to avoid fiber and lint loss. I clean it when it's dirty and only wash it as a last resort. Wool becomes rough and scratchy when the natural lanolin oil is leached from its fiber, which is another reason for my opinion on brushing. I wasn't expecting much given the price but I was pleased and surprised when I received it and got it ready to use. I have brought many wool products from New Zealand where the mills give specific instructions for use and care and if treated properly they will remain useful for many, many years. For storage I used cedar that has recently been restored with pure cedar oil which also helps as a bug transplant for camping and outdoor use.
