Review on πŸ‘— Rockabilly Vintage Cocktail Dresses: A Fashionable Collection for Women's Clothing by Anne Romero

GREAT dress for the price; but a few issues that weren't perfect

EDIT: After receiving another dress (btw this seller is AMAZING!), all the quality issues I had with my first one didn't exist in the second! As I suspected, I was just unlucky with my first one. This dress is VERY worth the money. Buy it because you won't be disappointed. It's very flattering and phenomenal value for what you get! I almost died the first time I opened this dress! That was all I had my fingers crossed for, although some reviews said otherwise. The red polka dot fabric is a fairly rare print and for the price it looks amazing! The red color is so bright and rich, and the material is light, comfortable and breathable. Judging by the reviews, the fit of dresses with a zipper is less than dresses with just an elastic back. I'm VERY happy/damn in my chest and I'm not a teenage girl to begin with so I chose XXL with my measurements 46-35-44. (Holy cow I hope this review helps some ladies like me as I couldn't find one that measured this style to anyone, not even a little my height!) At 5ft 3in, with small crinoline, it fell just below the knees and fits perfectly. While I would normally NEVER consider a strapless bra, the matching dress kept the girls swimming ALL day at Disney in mid-August. A lot of bending over, wrestling with kids all day, etc. and I didn't have to constantly pick things up. However, as to be expected for the price, there were SEVERAL quality issues. At first there were a few spots where it looked like a crease had formed in the fabric during dyeing, leaving a few white polka dot streaks. Not a HUGE issue or noticeable negating the price. When it arrived there was a 2 inch thread break in the seam where the bodice meets the skirt so I just hand stitched it and it was perfect! BUT I have dry cleaned it as the label recommends before wearing and the polka dot red has turned every spot near the seams pink! I took it to the green cleaning so I'm not sure if that matters or not but it wasn't SUPER noticeable so I wore it anyway. If I were to buy this dress again I would definitely wash it myself on the gentle cycle with cold water and a few flower traps and hope for the best. was, it's still a great buy. I'm sure the quality issues I had were probably just bad luck on my part as they are mass produced. I would definitely buy it again knowing what I know now and I might just take a trip to Disney next month.

Pros
  • Normal price
Cons
  • Not bad
