After my rotator cuff repair I was too shy to go without a bra. I found the back racer to be ok for avoiding shoulder surgery, but by the end of the day my back and neck muscles were hurting terribly. So I bought it because it has a front closure (much easier than trying to button a "regular" bra in front and then slide it back without pulling or twisting), it feels soft, and it has wider straps to accommodate to distribute the pressure. That's wonderful! At 2 1/2 weeks I can wear the strap over my shoulder but at the end of the day I take it off. I've bought so many race back bras, strapless bras, etc. I wish I could find this one first. Even if you're going to have rotator cuff surgery, persevere - the condition will slowly improve, especially after physical therapy begins.
