I always thought the Glencairn glass was hype, a marketing gimmick to accompany the emergence of whiskey/and as a trendy drink. That is, until I actually drank from one. i am sold Glencairn brings out the flavor and aroma of whiskey perfectly. You'll have a hard time seeing me drinking from a glass or an old-fashioned glass again if I can help. The size, weight and feel of this jar is also fantastic - solid but not bulky or bulky at all. The lip is not thick enough to disturb or otherwise disturb small sips. I'm confused as to why anyone would need a larger one. First, it won't be as efficient. Secondly, there is enough space in this glass for proper measure. If you want to add a splash of water, there's plenty of room for that too, but just the right splash. If you need more space for water I'm not sure how good this glass would be for you if you want to dilute your whiskey that much.
