Review on Dell P2418HT 23 8 Touch Monitor 60Hz, Touchscreen, ‎FBA_P2418HT, IPS by Emanuel Hilton

So far I like this monitor. It works really well and with some tweaking I was able to get the picture and brightness closer to my other IPS gaming monitor. Image quality is still nothing special, but being an IPS panel it already has great viewing angles and colors so I can't really complain about that. It works great with Bitwig Studio. The touch experience in Windows 10 looks just as good as any other touch device I've used. It was a bit strange to touch the screen at first because it feels like a regular monitor, but I got over that pretty quickly and definitely prefer the matte finish over the glossy one. Glare and fingerprints are not a problem. My biggest complaint has to do with the price ($300 at the time of writing this review). IPS monitors have fallen sharply in price over the past year. You pay at least three times more than non-touch IPS. I find it hard to believe that all touch hardware drives up the price so much when touchscreen tablets and laptops are cheap these days. Now I'm willing to pay that much because it's part of my workstation, but for those who just want to use a touchscreen monitor with their computer for convenience, the price probably isn't worth it. I think they should drop it for at least $50 and also offer a cheaper version that doesn't include a kickstand. This is a very good quality monitor stand, however I have VESA stands installed which I would rather use. In the end, the touchscreen works great with Windows 10, the picture quality is good enough, and it doesn't look weird or out of place next to my other monitors. If you are happy with the price then I see no reason not to take it.
