I only knew the shell-shaped sunglass holder with an open bottom and the temples of the sunglass between them. My problem with them is that the hinge broke easily. One broke a few days after purchase. So I wanted a more robust solution. These FineGood sunglass holders are excellent. The quality and design are top-notch, and they have a relatively slim profile. The accent color was a nice touch and I love that I have two holders - one for my car and one for when I ride in my husband's car. The only thing that took a bit of getting used to about the design of this sunglass holder was how the sunglass temples were secured with the spring-loaded clip. Unlike the old "shell" design where the bottom of the clip just hung down and offered no resistance, this FineGood design has good spring resistance, making it difficult to insert sunglasses into the holder. As such, this design can be a two-handed operation for some, as you need to lower the bottom of the clip to fit the sunglasses into the holder. I've found that the trick to putting on sunglasses with one hand is to fold the temples of the sunglasses inward, put your finger in the space between the temples and grind the lenses, the hand holding the sunglasses move to the holder and use your index finger to pull the bottom of the clip down and slide the sunglasses forward. Once the temples are in the clip, release the bottom of the clip to lock the sunglasses in the holder. This allows the holder to be used with one hand and I find this to be the easiest way to place glasses in the holder due to the spring loaded clip. I would definitely recommend this product but I don't think I will need to buy the products again as they are of such high quality.
