Review on Postropaky Women's Waterproof Outdoor Snow Ski Pants for Hiking, Insulated Softshell Trousers with Snowboard Zipper Bottom Leg by Carl Lipschultz

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good outdoor pants, but zipper at hip lets water through

Loose enough to accommodate extra layers, eliminating the need to order. Check the size chart and measure yourself - the table is very accurate! The zipper on the cuffs allows me to wear the legs over my winter boots. The Achilles heel of waterproof pants is the zipper on the back pocket. After 20 minutes of walking in a light but incessant rain, the water seeped through and reached my skin. The pants were otherwise very good at blocking water, but that little zipper failed miserably. This pocket is very small and only fits credit cards and a few keys. There are 4 other large zippered pockets that will do their job well, so please get rid of the small thigh pocket next time. The zips of the 4 large pockets are not waterproof either, but they are well hidden under the jacket to prevent rainwater from getting on them. Also, the big orange "EX Strech" logo (yes, that's how it's spelled) looks really cheap on this little bag. I will never wear these pants around town because of that word/logo! Overall these pants are comfortable, although you can feel the horizontal seam where the knee pad meets regular fabric. I ran in the cold without extra layers on a sunny, windless day and it was warm enough. I also wore it indoors for a while and it's not very hot either. On very windy days it blocks the wind very well. Just make sure you're not relying on it on rainy days because of a leaky hip zip. Means? Cover the zipper with black tape (and that silly looking orange logo) to waterproof your pants!
