Review on Barlus Underwater Camera Stainless Special Camera & Photo by Justin Anderson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent picture and solid underwater camera.

First of all, this is a high quality camera with good assembly and excellent picture. There isn't much in the box but the box is sturdy and you can use it as a case to carry and store your camera. It comes with a rugged camera and a 5 meter cable, which is about 15 feet. There is some inconsistency in the description, the listing says 1440p and 4MP but the description says 1080p and 5MP. If I had to guess, it's 5MP and 1080P, but whatever, the picture is pristine. I haven't tested it underwater, but in my home it performed as well or better than any of my indoor or outdoor cameras. It's a bit more expensive, but it's IP68 rated, so it should be good at around 1 to 5 meters. . The construction is premium and the camera feels heavy. It also comes with strong mounting screws. The body is made of stainless steel, anti-fog and durable. I put it in my pool to show people but it can be used for a variety of purposes like carp ponds or general surveillance. The USB stick with the manuals on it is fantastic. There was also a setup video. My only problem is that I think because this is a Chinese product there is no sound on the video so you really have to pay attention. I spent some time rewinding to set myself up. I won't say that the installation is really easy, but if you have local networking and computer skills, it's not difficult. Make sure you click "Allow Network" during installation, otherwise no IP address will be displayed. Also make sure they are connected to the same network. I have multiple network settings and forgot. There are several ways to set this up and it enables POE and if you have a switch that uses POE you don't need a power cord. I don't, but I could get one for it. POE is essentially Power over Ethernet, which also turns your Ethernet cable into a power cord. Overall, it wasn't difficult to set up for someone in the know, but I could see it was difficult for a computer newbie. they have support. The picture quality was fantastic and this is a great camera for your underwater needs.
