First time used here in the Southwest where we have a lot of rattlesnakes. They are comfortable and fit great. One strap came off twice (we walked through dense cacti and desert bushes a lot) so it wasn't a surprise and I wrapped it once and it stayed in place. I have short calves and when I lift my leg past 90 degrees I can feel it rubbing the back of my thigh but not as painful. They work quickly and easily and have done a great job keeping the cactus needles and thorns off my calves. Love the front protection and how it wraps around the top of the foot. Plus, they happen quickly and easily. Someone complained about the quick releases. They look a little cheap but they are the same ones I have in my backpack which I use 4-5 times a week. They fit well and fit well. I also like that they are quick and easy to make. I had another pair of spats and although they cost a little less than these they were terrible. Tried to buy expensive Irish snake setter boots and they were terrible. It's been a great experience so far and I'm glad I took it. Just keep in mind that if you wear them with something like tennis shoes they won't cover your entire foot and some part of you will be exposed as snakes can bite through light leather and fabric. I wear mine with heavy Danner Pronghorns and they go great together. When I'm done, I don't have to drive them home in the desert heat, I just take them off and put them in the back seat. They pass in seconds. Showed it to my brother and he takes off his snake boots and goes with these.
