From an Active Mom: Organic Bamboo Nursing Pads Review

I've had success with reusable organic cotton nursing pads in the past, but this time I wanted to branch out and invest a few bucks in a different material. I have found these organic bamboo pads to be much more absorbent than cotton and are soft and comfortable. I really liked their color and comfort, I appreciate their absorbency and economy. I feel I made a wise purchase here and intend to check out the other items Baby Zelis has to offer. Be sure to wash them as directed before first use to maximize their absorbency. They are large enough in diameter to fit securely in the cups of standard bras, nursing bras and sports bras. They are also subtle and discreet and go well with the mug. Thick nursing pads tend to make your breasts look unnatural and bulky: this is something to consider when purchasing nursing pads if this is your first experience. However, they are really very careful. I lead an active lifestyle. I am a martial arts teacher and a ballerina. I am also a firefighter/rescuer/medical first responder. Thinness and absorbency are extremely important factors in my search for "mommy" products. I don't want to lick through my shirt in the middle of class, especially in front of or over a patient. I really trust the absorbency of these pads and can work all day without fear of a humiliating incident. I've talked about this before, but I can't help but notice the comfort and absorbency of these pads. If you're struggling to find organic materials, cotton, bamboo, and hemp are ideal for reusable use. Cotton is durable. but becomes less absorbent over time. Hemp only becomes more absorbent and durable over time. but loses its shape with every wash (even by hand). These bamboo pads are a good middle ground between the two as they are super absorbent and the pad keeps its shape after washing. That way you won't have any lumps. An added benefit of these pads that I didn't think I would appreciate as much until they arrived was how beautiful they are. Typically, unbleached, reusable, organic pads are natural off-white, beige, or oatmeal in color. I liked that they appeared in feminine colors when looking at them on my screen, but I liked seeing them in person and have treasured them every time I use them ever since. The colors are much softer in real life. Very natural and spring-like feeling. Overall, I would recommend this product and intend to purchase it in the future as a baby shower gift for other active, frugal and/or environmentally conscious moms I know. They were a great investment and extremely cost effective, exceeding my initial expectations. The company ships quickly and will get back to you afterwards to make sure you receive your package. Just a good experience all round.
