I am not happy with the built in mic in my phone because when people talk about 10 feet away the built in mic picks up ambient noise. So I decided to upgrade to an external microphone, which can provide some background noise cancellation. When I first tried this FULAIM microphone, I was a little worried about whether the phone holder could hold my phone in the case. It fits well so I don't have to take off my phone case to use this mic. It seems to be a well thought out product, all accessories can be stowed in a small semi-rigid carrying case. Setup is quick and easy. So far this mic has worked quite well with my Samsung Galaxy 8. Sound clarity has definitely improved compared to the built-in microphone. I also like the mini tripod that connects to the phone mount. Although I don't often use it as a tripod because it's too short, it serves as a very strong grip extension. Feels comfortable in the hand, the weight is just right with enough grip to get stable videos but not too heavy that my hand gets tired for a long time. The general build quality is very good and solid. I don't usually use my DSLR for video. But I decided to try this mic on my DSLR, the result is excellent because it did a great job at canceling camera noise. Overall, this mic works well with both a phone and a DSLR camera. It's definitely a good deal.
