We have tested many shoes over the years with two boys playing soccer. This special model is very well suited for lawns and artificial turf. Great traction, great feel and comfort. When we say "excellent traction" we mean that these turf shoes perform better than any other we've tried, especially on artificial grass, which is exactly what we were looking for. The tread pattern is aggressive and the rubber compound is soft, allowing the shoe to provide traction on both artificial grass and shorter carpets. A clear advantage over many FG and wet artificial grass shoes, especially due to the combination of tread pattern and rubber compound. I can't talk about life on the pavement as avoiding keeping the tread depth and sharp edges and switching to flip flops and back except when they're on the field. Very happy with this shoe. We have bought several pairs since discovering these shoes and will continue to buy them as long as New Balance makes them. We always order the "wide" option, even if our feet are not very wide. We've found that many football boots feel ridiculously tight. If your feet are really wide, I'm not sure you'll be happy with that? If, like us, you find that many big brand football boots feel tight, then the wide version of this boot should fit you just fine.
