Review on ๐ŸŽฎ PDP Afterglow Wired Controller for Xbox 360 - Blue: Enhanced Gaming Experience! by Covey Palmer

Unreliable wiring - otherwise it's fine

I've known Afterglow controllers for many years but am very disappointed with the current version. This controller was listed as "WIRED" but what (the ad doesn't tell you) is that it uses a removable MicroUSB cable. The afterglow also does not provide additional reinforcement for the connector by deepening the insertion point into the housing just enough for the rubber portion of the connector to provide additional strain relief and resistance to accidental removal. If they use this bad form of connection then the connector needs to be recessed into the body of the controller **thinks it necessary to say this twice in two different ways**. I had to spend my precious and very limited life savings just to get a controller that I would probably have to replace much sooner than I wanted. Do not drop this controller on a hard floor or carpet too often. When he hits the fork, it breaks because they don't sink the fork into the body to release the tension. This is false advertising to "not tell us" that it has a modular cable. BILD shows WIRED. RIGID WIRE CABLE. not modular, and there is ABSOLUTELY NO MENTION that the cable is modular. If the body of the actual connector actually intruded a bit INSIDE the controller case to make it stronger, it wouldn't be that bad and would actually make it capable of surviving an accidental drop or pull. The only plus The consequence for me is the actual function of the controls. This is definitely the usual quality of the actual function. The reactions are smooth and definitely acceptable.

Pros
  • Vibration motors with feedback
Cons
  • makes me angry
