Works as advertised - ready to use. A CR2032 battery was included. only (3) AA are required. Good range, easy to install. Was already a couple. The bells sound a little "electronic", but they are electronic and have a speaker. It doesn't have the old traditional bells and magnet to strike them. This is quick and easy without cables! I used a self-adhesive button to attach the button instead of screws as the holes don't line up with the previous ones so we'll see how long that takes. But screws are a fallback. The button block is also not airtight, so over time moisture, condensation, etc. will likely corrode the electronics and battery, like this one. But for the price it was worth it.
