Review on S.M.S.L Sanskrit 10th MK II High-End DAC with USB, Optical and Coaxial Inputs in Blue by Callie Boyd

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best offer in life

I have been speaking Sanskrit for 6 years. I bought it because it had better specs than anything else at the time and was only $106. I used it on a fairly expensive stereo. When I first plugged it in, I realized it was a source closer to vinyl than anything I had ever heard. It was wonderful. I also have M-Audio BX8 studio monitors that I've used with a very cheap DAC. I love Sanskrit 6. But I hated getting up to change the input. When Sanskrit 10th came out with a $93 remote. I became obsessed with the need to buy it. So my 6th is on M-Audio monitors and the 10th is on a high-end classic system. Now the BX8s sound as good as my millennia-old system. If you look at other offerings in this price range, try to find one that offers a remote control. This is the best deal you've ever received. Period.08-20-19: Sanskrit uses micro USB input. It took me forever to understand that. You should use an external power supply if you need full accuracy.

Pros
  • Useful not only for intended purpose
Cons
  • Bad teaching
