This is a good alternative to the clip phone holder. I inserted the magnet into the back cover of the phone without sticking it to the phone itself. The phone cover holds the magnet in place. This works very well. Comes with 2 different sized magnets. I chose the smaller one. Holds tight enough for my 5S. The mount is quite small - it sticks out about 1/2 inch from the vent and doesn't bother me while riding. The bleed pins fit my bleed well. I hope they don't stretch and lose their grip.
