This USB charging port is perfect for my 2017 Corolla. It would fit into the empty holes on either the right or left side of the steering wheel in this Corolla, but I installed it on the left side of the steering wheel where I have my phone mount. This USB charging port is advertised as 2.1A per port at 5V and will draw 55-59mA at idle from a 12.6V vehicle power supply. So it does get a bit warm and draws around 0.73W when nothing is plugged into the port, but that's not a concern unless you plug it in so it's always on. Then it could be that the battery is too heavily loaded. I cut off the built in 2A fuse holder and spliced (soldered and heat shrunk) an ATM low profile mini fuse tap and used a Bussmann 2A low profile mini fuse in the fuse tap. block for this chain. I soldered a ring terminal to the ground wire and this allowed me to get a perfect ground from the under dash screw. At the moment this USB charger is perfect for my use.
