Beautiful bag with lots of practical storage space. It is marked as real leather. What does that mean. These are the split or weak remnants of the skin bonded to the outer polyurethane to give it strength or durability. You can see that in my photos. The pattern printed on the outer layer is a repeating print. Unusual for split leather, since it actually has no pattern, it looks more like suede at first. Then the inseam overlap clearly shows the split grain glued to its outer layer. Most of the seams are rolled and glued so the leather is not visible like on more expensive leather goods. The smell of the skin is very faint, but it is due to the fact that the salon is "suede". The appearance is soft but a little waxy and like a leather bag. I'm a little worried about the integrity of these belts. I'd like rivets for strength. This is a beautiful and well organized tote and I believe it will serve its purpose for several months. I will want to switch to real leather or premium leather when it wears out. The price suits me!
