Review on ⚡ Enhanced Xantrex PH-1800-GFP PowerHub: Optimize Your Power Generation by Max Rosengren

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very easy to install and use. Works perfectly!

Not sure where the previous reviewer had a problem? I bought one of these Revain power hubs for our "standalone" cabin two years ago. I also bought: 3x60W solar panels from a local supplier ($400); 2 x Canadian Tire 100Ah deep cycle batteries designed for this system ($400 sales); 100 feet of #10 wire ($100); a pair of #4 12" jumper wires and a 20 amp charge controller ($75). The panels were installed on our roof. Wire from the panels was run through the old pipe riser into the basement and up through the floor to the Xantrex. Box PH-1800. The included instructions were very detailed and illustrated all the connection steps. This site also has a very good installation video [.] The system is operational and powering all our table and floor lights for two years. without hook or hook. Most nights we run at least 4 x 13w CFLs for 4 hours or more, plus a laptop or two and a small stereo. There's no TV, but what could he possibly be doing in someone's cabin? We never get anywhere near batteries below 80% and batteries are usually fully charged before noon every day. I'm hoping to add a 400w wind turbine next spring which should only connect to the device with a single connection, along with two more batteries that fit in the superstructure n battery box specifically for the main box. I can't think of a simpler, more elegant solution, with a final cost of less than $1800 for everything. It is truly a solar plug and play solution for small off-grid situations.

Pros
