Review on 📷 Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera - 3x Optical Zoom, Image Stabilization, 2.5-inch LCD - Gold by Tony Cole

I chose this camera as an "always with you" item. I have a Canon 20D professional camera with lots of lenses and other attachments and it's HEAVY. So I don't take it except for a photo shoot. The SD780IS has one very important feature: the optical viewfinder. This is very useful in bright sunlight when you find it very difficult to use the LCD to frame a photo. Picture quality is great, HD video is excellent, only gripe is that the microphone is very sensitive to wind noise. Applying filters and cropping/resizing in camera is very nice. This camera is so small it's smaller than a credit card (just thicker). The flash works great, the focus light works great - I can shoot in total darkness! The shutter lag is very, very short. If you're looking for an absolutely AWESOME camera that slips in your pocket (you'll forget it's there), this is the one for you! The only limitations (compared to my "big" camera) are. no lens options (only built-in 3x zoom, with very good digital zoom and image stabilization function) and slightly higher image data noise (necessary as a very small sensor is used). Even with very large prints (12 megapixels is LOTS of pixels), no noise is visible. And of course, the customization options are limited (I love shutter priority, but I can't do it with this camera). However, the exposure system is GREAT! I usually shoot at -2/3 stops in program mode. This is because the image is often slightly overexposed in auto mode (when viewed on the LCD monitor). The image is usually NOT overexposed, it just looks like it. Since I often share photos from my camera, I use this to get great color on an LCD, not just a computer. The additional image noise with this setting is very low. Great camera! HD video in the palm of your hand! I'm waiting for Canon to release the 60D so I can shoot HD with my big camera too!
