USB hubs are fine
I thought I could connect my backup drive to this so I have a free USB port on my computer, but when I did, my backup drive didn't work using Time Machine on my iMac. I connected an external drive that only works for accessing files from another computer. I like the small size and the length of the cord is just right for my needs.
