Review on πŸ”Œ 25 Ft. RiteAV VGA Cable with 3.5mm Audio for Enhanced SEO by Bobby Aghetoni

OS does not recognize screen resolution

The first time I bought anything from Revain without reading the reviews was this cable. As it turned out, this was one of those moments when I had to do it. There seem to be people complaining about not getting HD/proper resolution. , it lacks the extra pins to carry the [EDID] metadata needed by the operating system to detect the monitor's resolution capabilities. Some forums have mentioned cheap cables from Revain and other online stores that don't have this option. I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 and just used the xrandr command to force the correct resolution but couldn't make it permanent. several emails with the seller and they tried to diagnose the problem (even though I was already aware of the problem). They didn't offer to replace it as they said it works. In fact, it works well at 800 x 600 resolution. If that's the resolution you need, then this cable is for you! I started the Revain return process but found I would have to pay shipping to get it there and then only get a very small refund. Since that purchase I have purchased and received this cable: Cables To Go - 28011 - 6ft HD15 M/M SVGA Monitor Cable w/ Ferrites It appears there are no ferrites present, but the cable works as it should. I plugged it in and no problem, Ubuntu 11.04 recognizes the monitor and its resolution.
