Copper and her new bling - Update

Part 1: My first review after a day of owning and using the Dogtra Pathfinder TRX 9 miles. The unit was packaged very well, housed in a sturdy black box with a handle, latches, and a foam cutout to separate the components. Very pretty. My first impression was that the collar felt heavy and the antenna on the collar was long and distracting to Copper when I first put it on her. Copper is a girl, a 10-month-old Vizsla Hungarian who weighs 50 pounds. She loves to hunt birds and stalk rabbits. It burrows into the brambles to the point where it bothers me because sometimes it goes so deep I can't see it at all. What if she falls into a trap or passes out for some reason? That was the main reason I bought it, but it will also help with hunting training. I fully charged the components and tested the TRX at Copper's favorite spot the next morning. I put the collar on very tightly, with two fingers side by side, as recommended. The antenna swung to the right and the Copper shut down and functioned without showing any interest in the collar. It was nice to see that. I started following their movements and the accuracy of the device. I attached the plug to the collar of my t-shirt. The accuracy of the device was really good. I live in an area with a very good GPS signal but have worked near power lines and gotten very close to them and never had a problem. The device demonstrated a full range of motion from 6 feet to about 90 yards. The symbols changed as she stood, walked, and ran. So far I'm really impressed with this device. Copper felt very natural when worn. It's fun, easy to use, and gives me the confidence to know where Copper is even when I can't see her. I'm planning to get a velcro/elastic strap to attach to my arm, or even a hat to hold the plug. high. This ensures it gets the best signal without getting in the way. In the future, I plan to evaluate the battery life of the components and my smartphone, durability, etc. Part 2: I tested my device on a single charge. since my first review. The charge on the plug dies before the collar. The plug worked for about 17 hours without charging. The collar was still around 38%. I am very happy with it. One improvement I'd like to see is USB charging instead of the required 110V charger. If you go camping for a few days, you'll need to use an in-car inverter with a cigarette lighter adapter and a 110V outlet, which isn't is comfortable . my hand. That works great. It's a little tricky to attach as the clip is very strong. I attach my smartphone to my other hand using the waterproof Nite Ize case. This leaves my hands free to take photos and everything is easily accessible without getting in the way. I had no problems with the tracker. Easy to use, copper is very natural with it. She can swim in the wild rose without any problems. I can follow their actions with confidence. Great tool that I look forward to for many years to come. I'm leaving my rating at 4 stars because I wish reloading was easier. However, I highly recommend this device.
