I am normally a size 6/medium, but based on other reviews, I purchased a size up. I wish I would have purchased my exact size as I have found the large slightly big. As a slimming product, it would be better to have been slightly small vs. too big. Of course, this is my fault for ordering the wrong size based on other reviews. The fabric is not too shiny, but not completely matte either. The stretch is good so they are easy to get on & off. I didn't have to struggle with these capris. They are smooth. I find them easy to move All in all, I like them very much. I might buy a medium & give away my size large.
