Instructions were written when the stools were packaged differently. They don't specify which screw size to use where. Luckily I ordered the matching bar stools and they only had one screw size used in the same place as these stools. I had no trouble building them, but if you're having trouble visualizing the build project, you might get very frustrated. The chairs look great and are very sturdy but the instructions would need to be rewritten.
